Established in the 1940s and 1950s, Merry Oaks is a close-in neighborhood with a charming mix of cottages, ranches, bungalows and new construction homes. The neighborhood lives up to it’s name and has lots of trees like large willow oaks, maples, crepe myrtles and redbuds. The community has many family-friendly features like two sections of Greenway Path, a community garden, and elementary school and walkability to restaurants and shops. One section of Greenway path crosses over Briar Creek with a lovely little bridge and connects Merry Oaks to Plaza Midwood, and the other section wraps around the elementary school. The elementary school is nestled in the neighborhood away from main roads and is surrounded by green fields and woods. The community also has a beautiful and well-maintained garden where neighbors can try out their green-thumb.
